SkinnyStix Ingredients

Zantrex SkinnyStix contain various different active ingredients, similar to their Zantrex-3 supplement. Just like their previous product Zantrex-3, SkinnyStix hides its doses present within the proprietary formula, which means we don’t known how much of any ingredient is actually in the product. One way or another, we are still going to investigate each of the ingredients separately.

Yerba Mate Leaf Extract

Known as Brazilian tea or simply mate, made from leaves which come from the rainforest in South America and Paraguay. Yerba Mate Leaf Extract contains a variety of stimulants and antioxidants which can help with weight loss and inflammatory diseases.
Yerba Mate is very rich in antioxidants, due to its high content of polyphenols, compounds which provide many health benefits beyond the plant’s nutritional property. According to the study performed by “Chilean Journal of Agricultural Research” in 2009 Yerba Mate’s antioxidant activity is superior in comparison to green tea and red wine (1).

Yerba Mate has the ability to suppress weight gain, according to the study published in “Obesity” from 2009 (2). Not only does Yerba Mate help with weight loss, your heart can also benefit from this natural extract by reducing inflammation associated with wide array of ailments. As far as side effects go, Yerba Mate is known to have very little side effects. High doses of this extract could potentially increase the risk of bladder, larynx, and kidney cancer (3). But we are talking about very high doses, that likely no one would consume.

Guarana Seed Extract

Guarana is one of the most popular forms of Caffeine in South America. Known as the key ingredient of various energy drinks and supplements. With a wide range of benefits, it’s not difficult to see why it’s expanding in popularity.

The first thing that Guarana has would be Paullinia cupana, which is the ingredient that provides stimulant properties. The “Nursing Herbal Remedies Handbook” claims that Guarana contains tree to seven percent Caffeine (4). Regular coffee has only two percent of Caffeine. That is a good indicator of the power Guarana Extract has.
Guarana’s active ingredient would be guaranin which is chemically identical to Caffeine, but with one huge difference. While in its natural form, it has the ability to bound in to fiber of the Guarana Seeds. Simply put, the stimulant component is released slowly, giving you energy for hours. This energy is very much different from the one you receive from Caffeine (Slow acting, No headaches, Improved stamina and endurance, Long Lasting, etc.). In addition to its energy boosting properties, Guarana has even more health and weight loss benefits. Guarana Seed Extract can act as a general tonic or a cleanser which would remove inflammatory symptoms and intestinal disorders.

Whit many benefits some side effects must occur. Guarana can potentially cause dehydration and insomnia. Only high doses are found to cause these effects, normal doses shouldn’t cause any problems (5).

Coffee Bean Extract

A clear form of caffeine, which can help in boosting the metabolism, increasing your energy expenditure and improving cognitive function. Studies in the other hand show different results (6). One study shows the positive effect of Coffee Bean Extract on weight loss, a different study shows no significant results using this natural fat burning ingredient.

Stevia Leaf Extract

A very popular natural sweetener. Stevia has a very low glycemic index which provides an assortment of benefits from weight loss, glucose tolerance and reduction of the blood pressure. The benefit we are mostly concerned would be the regulation of our blood sugars. This is essential, since high blood sugar levels cause organ damage, kidney and heart problems (7).

Damiana Leaf Extract

Is used in many weight loss supplements as an appetite suppressant. Proven to work, this extract with Guarana and Yerba Mate creates a great combination for weight loss. A study published in 2001 researching Yerba Mate, Guarana and Damiana combined has proven the amazing effects of this concoction on the stomach emptying, which results in the feeling of fullness (8).

Cacao Seed Extract

Some studies show that Theobromine, an ingredient found in Cacao Seed Extract could potentially help with weight loss (9). Positive effects on the users metabolic rate have also been found. More research has to be concluded in order for us to determine the true properties this natural extract has.

Cayenne Fruit Powder

Very little scientific research has been done on this ingredient. It could potentially suppress the users appetite, while ligtly boosting the metabolism.

Ingredients Summary

Zantrex SkinnyStix just like their predecessor Zantrex-3, provide only natural ingredients. These ingredients are virtually the same like the ones in Zantrex-3. Zantrex SkinnyStix don’t bring anything new to the table. The only change they bring is the different way the product is consumed (powder form), and the variety of flavours. A couple of insignificant ingredients have been added to this product. We can only declare that the ingredients found in Zantrex SkinnyStix have scientific proof of efficiency, but as stated in the beginning of this review, most likely their underdosed. Underdosed ingredients in the proprietary blend are a big problem with all Zoller Laboratorie products, making the supplement less effective.

Based on all the evidence, it’s hard to recommend Zantrex SkinnyStix as an amazing product. While the supplement is safe and will most likely create some effect on your weight, it really isn’t a weight loss aid in a conventional sense.

The weight loss experienced would be small over a longer period of time. Considering the price, “underdosed” ingredients, and lack of results, it’s truly a judgement call as to whether or not Zantrex SkinnyStix are worth it.
