Javita offers two variants of their weight loss coffee, the “Burn + Control” and the “Energy + Mind”.
Here are the ingredients used in both Javita Weight Loss Coffee variants:
- Arabica and Robusta Coffee – Javita combines the Arabica beans which are considered to have a sweet taste and Robusta beans which are considered to have a sharper and bitter taste to create the perfect tasting coffee. Both beans contain caffeine which is a known metabolism stimulant that reduces appetite, and improves cognition and energy (1) (2). However, Javita does not mention how much total caffeine is added to the formula, increasing the risk of side effects. High doses of caffeine alone, or in combination with other stimulants, can induce rapid heart rate, jitters, high blood pressure, insomnia, restlessness, fatigue, headaches, anxiety, mood swings, and the list goes on (3).
- Garcinia Cambogia Extract – Garcinia is a fruit tree found in India and Southeast Asia. The fruit of this tree has been used in medicine for hundreds of years. It is also used to treat obesity, as well as ease joint pain, alleviate bouts of diarrhea and promote regularity by increasing bowel movements (4). The interesting part of Garcinia is the chemical found in the fruit’s rind, called hydroxycitric acid or HCA, which is the most potent aspect of Garcinia. Studies have shown that HCA is effective in preventing fat cells from being stored in the body. It is also proven to help control appetite, and even increase physical endurance. This aspect is especially important when working out since it helps you stay active for a longer period of time (5).
- Yerba Mate Extract – Yerba Mate is an ingredient known to have almost all of the nutrients needed to keep one’s body functioning and healthy (6). Yerba Mate has many health benefits, such as the stimulation and enhancement of the nervous system and muscle activity, the suppression of appetite, and even increased weight loss. However, this extract also contains caffeine, which in combination with other stimulants, can lead to adverse effects (7).
- Green Tea Extract – Is derived from the Green Tea leaves. Thanks to its antioxidant ingredients – catechins, Green Tea is defined as a 20 times more powerful antioxidant than vitamin C and brings daily health to thousands of people around the world (8). Green Tea also contains caffeine, which raises the risk of caffeine overdosing (9).
- Gotu Kola Herb – This herb was traditionally used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, as it successfully reduced inflammation and improved skin health (10). However, recent studies show that Gotu Kola may be potentially harmful to the liver if used extensively, and could lead to side effects such as nausea, extreme fatigue, upset stomach, and headache (11). For this reason, use of the Gotu Kola Herb should be exercised with caution.
- Bacopa Monnieri Herb – Is a swampy herb, known for centuries in traditional Indian medicine. This herb is used to improve memory, with a particularly strong effect on elderly individuals. Bacopa Monnieri can be categorized as a nootropic herb and does not have stimulant properties (12).
The main concern with this product is certainly caffeine. Javita doesn’t provide clear information on how much caffeine is added to their formula, putting the consumers at a high risk of inefficiency and side effects. Caffeine is also not a long-term weight loss solution. Research has shown that caffeine benefits fade over time, and therefore require cycling in order to keep their potency (13). Other ingredients found in Javita Weight Loss Coffee have little to no evidence of efficiency. Some of them might even work, but no one can guarantee that.
Javita Weight Loss Coffee contains a few ingredients that might actually work. But the quantities they come in are most likely not suitable. Again, the caffeine content is very high and when combined with other stimulants, is definitely not a safe option. After we looked at the working process, the product’s ingredients and description we can only say that Javita offers more negatives than positives. A better option for you would be to choose an alternative product instead of Javita Weight Loss Coffee.
